After the Vedas, it is the philosophical treatise of Vedanta. Completely based on the Upanishads, it organizes theirs knowledge in dialog with the other Hindu schools of its time. Though written by Badarayana it is considered to be Shankaracharya's masterpiece due to his enlightened commentaries on it. Volumen I Contains Chapters I & II of the Brahma Sutra, with such topics as the unity of meaning of the Vedanta concepts. It discerns also on the elements and their respective roles in the formation of the Universe. The second chapter gives expression to the possible philosophical arguments against Vedanta's metaphysics as well as theirs refutations.
A must have book for all serious student of Vedanta Philosophy.
