Swami Pareshananda (1944), was born in India. Joined the Ramakrishna Order in 1967. He took his final monastic vows from Revered President Swami Vireshwaranandaji Maharaj in 1976. While in India he worked in publications, administrative departments and service. In 1998 he was designated President of the Ramakrishna Ashrama in Argentina. He arrived in that country the same year, in the middle of a severe finantial crisis. At that time the Swami had almost no knowlege of the Spanish language. However, he started his spiritual mission immediately after arrival. Pareshananda expanded the Vedanta activities to different Argentinian cities as well as to Brazil, Uruguay and Chile. In 1993 the Ashrama published "Ramakrishna Vivekananda Vedanta", Swami's first book in Spanish. Some years later, he dedicated himself to giving expression to Vedanta's universal truths through peace chants, songs and poems. His recently released book "Ramakrishna Sarada Gita" (2009), has sold 1100 copies in only 4 months. For more information on the Vedanta work in Argentina, please visit www.ramakrishna.org.ar
